FAQ

Are the paintings you sell originals?
Yes, all paintings on our website are original work that you are purchasing directly from the artists. For each painting that is purchased, we provide a certificate of authenticity. We also sell serigraphs.

What are serigraphs?
Serigraphs are limited edition prints of original paintings on fine art paper. Serigraph is a term describing the silkscreen process when used for fine art. The result of serigraph is richly, deeply colored artwork that has many of the qualities of a fine-art painting. Serigraphs are produced in an edition and are limited in number, as indicated in pencil below the image. The notation 1/100 means that this particular print is the first of 100 in the edition. By signing and numbering it, the artist is guaranteeing that there will never be more than 100 original serigraph prints of this design. The serigraph is a true limited edition piece of art, which means after all the pieces in the edition are created by the atelier, the screens are then destroyed. This guarantees that no additional prints can be created.

Will the painting look just like it does on the website?
We will ensure that our website images accurately represent the painting that you order. There may be small subtle differences, but each picture will remain true to the original. The painting you receive will be more impressive than a two-dimensional image on a screen.

What is the shipping method and cost?
We provide FREE WORLDWIDE express shipping via FedEx Express for all painting orders. Serigraphs may be shipped via other global express services. We ship our paintings in protective shipping tubes that ensure no damage occurs in transit. All orders are processed once payment has been received in full. A signature as proof of delivery is required.

When will I receive my order? All orders are processed once payment is received in full. Since paintings come directly from the artists' ateliers, we will require 5-7 days to process the order. Shipping time by FedEx Express international delivery takes 2-3 business days, depending on the time of year and location. Based on the above, you can expect to receive your painting(s) in 7-10 business days.

Are the paintings delivered framed or unframed?
Due to shipping logistics and people’s preference to choose their own frames, most of our paintings are sold unframed. Certain smaller paintings are delivered framed.

Can I shop at any time?
Yes, you can order through our website 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Is buying with you safe?
Absolutely! To process credit card transactions, we partnered with PayPal. PayPal is one of most trusted and secure online payment processing systems.

How do I pay?
We accept payments via bank transfer, credit cards and checks. Upon checkout, customers have the option to complete the transaction with a credit card through PayPal's secure payment processing system without leaving our website, OR, by logging in to their PayPal account. We can also take credit card payments over the phone. For check and wire transfer payments, we are providing a 2% rebate based on the total purchase price. We also accept in-person payments if you are in Split, Croatia. Payments by check require the customary check clearance wait time before we can ship. CroatianArtShop.com DOES NOT keep any financial information provided to us by customers upon checkout.

Can I cancel my order after making a payment?
Yes, orders can be canceled by contacting our customer service via e-mail or phone. Once we receive cancellation notice, we will send you a refund. However, you will be responsible for any refund transaction fees that may occur. An order CANNOT be canceled once it has been shipped.

What is your return policy?
Since the paintings come from artists' ateliers in Croatia and the artists dictate the return policies, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to return your purchase.

What happens if the painting arrives damaged?
Paintings are shipped in protective packaging that ensures no damage occurs during transit. In an unlikely event the damage does occur, paintings are fully insured. If a painting arrives damaged, point this out to the courier immediately, and also inform us.

Will I have to pay customs duty?
This varies from country-to-country. Generally, in most countries hand-painted original art is not subject to customs duty. U.S. Customs imposes NO IMPORT DUTY on hand painted original paintings. The point of entry into the United States makes no difference nor does the state of final destination. Please check with customs or postal authorities in your country if you have any questions.
